Why study the Old Testament? Isn't the New Testament for believers? We believe what the Book says: "All scripture is given by inspiration fo God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works" (1 Tim. 3:16-17). The Old Testament paints a grand picture of who God is and corrects humanity's perception of self. In two words, the Old Testament is about "promises made." We learn of our promise-making God and why we need His promises.
This course surveys Genesis to Proverbs looking at major ideas and themes of each book.

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
But how do I raise up my child in the way they should go? In this course we will seek to answer that exact question. But first we must answer a more foundational question: "What is God's purpose for the family?" Only then can we gain an accurate picture of how we are to raise children.
