Mike VerWay, Pastor

Mike VerWay has served as the Senior Pastor of First Calvary Baptist Church since December, 2000.  Previously, he served in churches in Illinois and Michigan working with families, children, teens and college students.   Mike is a graduate of Bob Jones University and is currently writing his doctoral dissertation.  He and Brenda have have four children from middle school to college.

Mike loves preaching and interacting with people.  He is an avid fisherman, coaches youth sports, plays nearly every sport, and enjoys traveling.

Mike came to faith in Christ at a young age and is the product of a Christian home and a great local church.  He often quotes 2 Corinthians 5:21, For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

Chris Juvinall, Asst. Pastor

Chris Juvinall has served as an Assistant Pastor working with families, children, teens and college students since his graduation from Northland International University in 1993.  He holds a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Central Baptist Theological Seminary and has been on staff as an Assistant Pastor at First Calvary since 2004 where he currently provides leadership over multiple ministries and aids couples, individuals, and families in biblical counsel.

Chris and his wife, Julie, are blessed to have five children (Titus, Carissa, Tyler, Caitlynn, and Claire) and count it a privilege to serve the Lord at First Calvary.
